William Wordsworth looks at the lesser known story behind Wordsworth's fame, set at a time when money problems and the health of his family clashed with his artistic and poetic ambitions. Filled with memorable characters and moments of hilarity juxtaposed with the more moving aspects of his story, it is a beautifully written homage to an iconic Cumbrian figure.
The cast includes Daniel Abelson (Coleridge), Amiera Darwish (Sara), Richard Evans (Atkinson/Elderly Man), Joseph Mydell (George Beaumont), Emma Pallant (Dorothy),Paul Ryan (Peter Garner/Lonsdale's Secretary), John Sackville (Wordsworth), Rosalind Steele (Mrs Coleridge) and Terence Wilton (Lord Lonsdale/Beggar Man). A world premiere and co-produced with English Touring Theatre, William Wordsworth plays at Theatre by the Lake from 31 March to 22 April.
