The Rose has received two prestigious nominations for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and HAY FEVER, both home-grown productions in 2010.

The internationally acclaimed production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, directed by Peter Hall, saw Judi Dench reprise the role of Titania and played to full houses for six weeks in February and March 2010. The Rose Theatre Production played exclusively at the Rose and has been nominated for Theatre Event of the Year at the WhatsOnStage.com awards. The public can vote at www.whatsonstage.com/awards

Meanwhile, Celia Imrie is in the running for Best Female Performance at the OffWestEnd.com awards for her role as the eccentric Judith Bliss in HAY FEVER. HAY FEVER was directed by Stephen Unwin and received great critical acclaim when it played at the Rose in September and October 2010. OffWestEnd.com subscribers can register their votes online. The two nominations come just days after the Rose won the award for Best Commitment to the Community at the Kingston Business Awards, and Director Emeritus, Sir Peter Hall, was awarded the Golden Seagull for his contribution to World Theatre at the Evening Standard awards.

Artistic Director, Stephen Unwin said " We are very proud our home-grown productions are being recognised in this way and to be nominated for two awards is terrific news. This, along with the award for our commitment to the community, really demonstrates what we're about. I urge everyone who enjoyed A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and HAY FEVER to vote".

The winners will be announced in February 2011.
