Stoke-on-Trent's Regent Theatre today announced that Eccleshall based firm Total Access (UK) Ltd , the UK's leading Rope Access, Rescue and Training Specialists, had become the first official sponsor of the theatre's Stage Experience initiative.

Stage Experience is an exciting two week intensive programme open to young people in Staffordshire and the surrounding areas, and will give all budding actors, singers and dancers the chance to experience what it is like to work on a professionally run production.

This unique programme, operated by The Regent Theatre's Creative Learning department, will call on trained actors, dancers and technical staff to teach talented young people how to deliver a professional production, culminating in live performances of Fame on The Regent stage in August.

Total Access (UK) Ltd, have sponsored a young performer to take part in the Stage Experience and have also purchased a number of Dudson produced limited edition Regent Theatre mugs.

Graham Burnett, Total Access (UK) Ltd CEO, said: "We are delighted to have this opportunity to invest in the future talent of young People in Stoke-on-Trent. We hope that our initiative encourages other companies to follow suit and sponsor individuals in this existing programme."

Karen Cody, Regent Theatre Development Manager, said: "Total Access (UK) Ltd are the first in what we hope will be a long line of supporters for this unique project. It really is a wonderful opportunity for local young performers to learn about what it takes to create a production, and the support of local businesses like Total Access (UK) Ltd will be invaluable, both to individual participants and to the project as a whole."

In order to make the programme accessible to everyone, The Regent is looking to get sponsorship for ten young singers, dancers or artists to attend the course, who might not be otherwise able to attend. The sponsorship will cover their course fees and travelling expenses, so that they can attend the course and perform in the live shows.

Companies can either sponsor directly or can purchase a number of limited edition Dudson Regent Theatre fine china mugs. The mugs are part of a limited run of 500 and are on sale now at £5 each. An overall amount of £2,500 from mug sales will be used to sponsor ten of the applicants for Stage Experience.

If your business would like to support Stage Experience and sponsor a young performer, please contact Regent Theatre Development Manager, Karen Cody on 07595 425290.

The fine china mug was produced as part of the award-winning business partnership between The Regent Theatre and the Dudson Group and reflects many of the Unique Features of The Regent as designed and built by the original owners, Provincial Cinematograph Theatres. It was designed by 14-16 year old students from Stoke-on-Trent's Sixth Form College's Manufacturing and Design Diploma.

Karen Cody added, "The mugs are the perfect combination of a flourishing business partnership and a commemoration of the theatre's history, whilst funds from the sale of the mugs will begin to develop the future of the performing arts community in Staffordshire."
