The Time Zone Theatre Young Actor Programme, supported by MMBF Trust, launches on 6th/7th February 2016 at So & So Arts Club.

Time Zone Theatre is delighted to announce that we teamed up with MMBF Trust, a charity launched by Matthew C. Martino to support young people taking their first steps in their career. The Time Zone Theatre Young Actor Programme will nurture new talent by providing free workshops, and will award a grant to one workshop participant. This grant will support one young person aged 16-18 by a 6-months-mentoring scheme from MMBF, which includes invitations to events, career advice and a fully funded summer acting course at either RADA, Mountview Academy or Central School of Speech and Drama in July 2016.

«The Young Actor Programme is part of Time Zone Theatre's new Education programme, which also offers school performances of our Shakespeare productions Othello and Macbeth. Creating theatre for young people and providing support and opportunities for those who want to pursue a career in the arts is something I'm very passionate about, and I'm glad to have found a strong partner in MMBF Trust to support this project », says Time Zone Theatre's artistic director Pamela Schermann.

The free workshops on 6th and 7th February will take place at SO & So Arts Club in Central London. Participants will explore Shakespeare together with actor and workshop leader Adam Cunis (actor and freelance practitioner for Globe Education, Bard Boot Camp and CandleFire Theatre) and watch a performance of Time Zone Theatre's production of Othello. There will also be a short talk by Matthew C. Martino about the work of MMBF Trust, and information about how to apply for the grant. Time Zone Theatre's new education programme launched in September 2015 and aims to bring high quality theatre productions to schools for subsidised rates. In their first year, Time Zone Theatre offers school performances of Othello as performed at the Rose Playhouse in 2015 (ideal for GCSE and A level English and Drama students) and Macbeth (ideal for KS3). These shows tour to schools in England and can be combined with a workshop.
