Oscar winning writer Simon Beaufoy has adapted his smash hit film for the stage and this brand new production will have its world premiere at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield in February 2013 before arriving at Birmingham Hippodrome from Tuesday 26 February – Saturday 2 March 2013 prior to London. Tickets are on sale now.

Writer Simon Beaufoy said: "It's been a long road – via Hollywood - but finally the characters are coming back home to the place where it all started. Or to put it another way, we are all genuinely chuffed to bits!"

This will be Simon's first work for theatre. His screen credits include 127 Hours, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Slumdog Millionaire which earned him an Oscar, Golden Globe and a BAFTA.

THE FULL MONTY will also feature the songs from the film by Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

THE FULL MONTY is directed by Sheffield Theatres Olivier Award winning Artistic Director Daniel Evans. Design is by Robert Jones, whose recent credits include Calendar Girls, The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium and Much Ado About Nothing starring Catherine Tate and David Tennant. Lighting design is by Tim Lutkin and sound design by Simon Baker.

This Sheffield Theatres production is presented by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers, the multi-award winning producers of 'Art', Brief Encounter, God of Carnage and Calendar Girls.
