Headlining the RADA Festival 2018, three shows from RADA graduates showcase inventive and exciting theatre and performance, with Knock Knock, the latest piece from critically-acclaimed Hot Coals Theatre; transfer of 5 star physical theatre/soundscape piece Lucid from New Public; and returning after a sold out showcase in last year's festival, a full production of Natalia Rossetti and Samara Gannon's feminist confessional Always Right There.
RADA Festival 2018 is proud to present these works with a focus on making theatre accessible to all , with tickets starting at £5. Hot Coals Theatre specialise in accessible work for d/Deaf and hearing audiences, and Knock Knock is also designed to be accessible for all ages too. Lucid, as a physical theatre piece, is movement-based, text free, and has no language barriers, and Always Right There will have captioned and BSL-interpreted performances programmed across the run.
Knock Knock is a modern folk story for our times, a fairytale of love and longing. This poignant and moving piece, using physical theatre, clown and mask, will capture the hearts of all the family.
Lucid is a funny, insightful and at times disturbing journey into the strange yet familiar world of dreams, combining unique sound design, physical theatre and surreal humour to explore the hidden depths of our subconscious.
Set between two friends' cramped flatshare and London's poshest spin studio, Always Right There takes you for a spin through five twenty-something women's lists of experiences of abuse that aren't really bad enough to warrant talking about, let alone reporting. All to a banging playlist.
The annual RADA Festival, now in its seventh edition, brings together RADA graduates and a network of theatre-makers from different backgrounds and disciplines for an innovative and collaborative ten days of theatre, installations, forums and discussions. With over 70 events, the Festival enables participants to take creative risks, extend to new territories and tell stories in unexpected ways.
The RADA Festival is supported by The Shaw Fund.
