Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces a series of one-nighters, expanding the theatre's core programme to include music and comedy. An Evening with Marvin Gaye, Shoot from the Hip - The Big Show and An Evening with Stratford East Singers open on 8 February, 17 February and 3 March respectively.

Let's get it on with a special evening of the 'Prince of Soul' with the velvet falsetto, Marvin Gaye.
Expect stunning soulful vocals from the charismatic Wayne Hernandez, incredible harmonies and infectious energy from Wayne's band that are guaranteed to get the room moving - a perfect Valentine's month treat.
For one night only, Wayne Hernandez and his live band take the audience on a journey of reminiscence, calling upon some of Gaye's most iconic hits including How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), Ain't That Peculiar, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, What's Going On, Let's Get It On and many more in this celebration of the Prince of Soul.
Wayne Hernandez has worked with the likes of Tina Turner, Gorillaz, Tori Amos, Blur, Grover Washington, Roberta Flack and Madonna. He has also toured extensively with Kool and the Gang and Regina Bell and is also a well-established songwriter and producer.

For one night only, What's On London's Best Improv Comedy Act 2017 is coming to TRSE - Shoot from the Hip - The Big Show!
On top of a full night of the hilarious games, spontaneous scenes, and unpredictable stories that have been highlights of the Monologueslams here in Stratford and at shows across London, they're now going king-size, bringing in performers past and present for a huge reunion.

An Evening with Stratford East Singers

Stratford East Singers (SES) are the Theatre Royal Stratford East's official community choir directed by music artist, Byron Gold. With over 250 members signing up to take part in the group, SES have sung to over twelve thousand people.
In an incredible six years SES have been featured in some of London's high profile cultural events, including the concert version of The Harder They Come, Heartfelt, BT River of Music Festival, Google HQ, BABEL, and the re-opening Of The Queen Elizabeth Park.
Not one to boxed in by the term 'community singing' SES have also been featured on BBC 4, ITV's The X-Factor and were placed 2nd runner up in the first series of 'The Naked Choir' hosted by Gareth Malone.
