HOME presents award-winning American company The Ricochet Project's stunning show Smoke and Mirrors as part of its spring 2016 season.
Tiptoeing the line from the heart to the head, The Ricochet Project, a two-person company comprising Cohdi Harrell and Laura Stokes, create an intimate acrobatic performance. Their unique style of contemporary circus bridges jaw- dropping virtuosity with the remarkable experience of what it means to be human.
Calculating the stocks of our emotional economy, Smoke and Mirrors weaves acrobatic exploitations and high-flying distortions to examine the contorted state of America in the pursuit of happiness. Undressing the suit of capitalism, Ricochet's nearly naked approach to poetic acrobatics reveals the inner workings of humans, doing their best to find a place of realness in an enduring culture of illusion.
