'The Quantum Physics Of My Heart', VAULT Festival 21st-25th Feb Image

The Quantum Physics of My Heart is a new autobiographical solo show written and performed by Amy Tobias. Scratched at the Battersea Arts Centre and developed with support from JW3, it will receive it's first full length production at the VAULT Festival 2018.

If Amy's dad is a kick-ass scientist then she can be one too, right? Isn't that probability, or logic, or something?

Using neither probability nor logic, Amy invites you to her comedy science lecture about growing up in the 90s. Amy has always tried to understand the world around her using science. Now, with the help of some complex scientific theories (not really), Amy grapples with the teenage experiences that shaped her, such as a) teacher crushes, b) best friend betrayals, c) an inappropriate advance from an older man and d) trying to be a good Jew.

An eccentric, inquisitive show about how we make sense of the world around us. Expect 90s bangers, some ultra-immersive group Hubba-Bubba chewing and a test tube or two.

The Quantum Physics of My Heart was scratched at the Battersea Arts Centre's 'Freshly Scratched' festival and Anonymous Is A Woman Theatre Company's scratch event 50:50, Arts Theatre. It is now being developed into a full length piece with the support of JW3, where a work-in-progress showing will take place on the 3rd February, before playing six performances at the VAULT Festival 2018. The VAULT Festival is London's biggest art's festival running from January to March, with over 300 shows.

Amy Tobias credits include touring internationally with Tall Stories' 'The Snail and the Whale', 'Winky' (Soho Theatre) and the Jailer's Daughter in 'The Two Noble Kinsman' (White Bear). Roxy Cook credits include 'Happy to Help' (Park Theatre), associate direction on Olivier Award winning 'Rotterdam' (Arts Theatre, 59e59, Trafalgar Studios, Theatre503) and 'Quaint Honour' (Finborough), and staff direction for West End in Schools. Roxy recently worked with Rob Drummond on 'The Majority'. Josh Roche is the winner of the JMK Award 2017 for 'My Name is Rachel Corrie' and was previously literary associate at the Soho Theatre. The Quantum Physics of My Heart
