The Patrick Studio Announces Exciting New Season  Image

Birmingham Hippodrome's Patrick Studio is gearing up for a jam-packed season of sensational performance where audiences can experience world-class shows in an intimate setting.

This half term, Sonia Sabri Dance Company's Same Same...But Different (21-26 Feb) is a splash of vibrant, family friendly colour which mixes dance, music and storytelling. Three dancer-musicians invite families on a playful and colourful journey which celebrates individuality and diversity.

Directed by Frantic Assembly's Scott Graham, Into the Light (5&6 Mar) is a daring piece of physical theatre incorporating an international cast of performers with and without learning disabilities.

Jessie Cave's critically acclaimed Sunrise (9 Mar) comes direct to Birmingham from Soho Theatre for a sell-out show plus TEDXYouth (27 Mar) hosts their second day of discussions, conversations and ideas following a hugely successful first outing in 2017.

Confessions of a Cockney Temple Dancer (28 Mar) is a funny, honest on-man show from Shane Shambhu which combines Indian dance and stand-up comedy to lead audiences on a revealing journey about his life.

Dear Zoo Live! (11-14 Apr) brings Rod Campbell's bestselling lift-the-flap book to life in a delightful family show featuring puppets, music and plenty of audience interaction.

Award-winning choreographer Seeta Patel reimagines the iconic Rite of Spring (14 May) by incorporating the South Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam with its intricate rhythmic footwork and expressive prowess.

The faaaaabulous comedy female impersonator Ceri Dupree returns in The Ladies I Love (5&6 Jun) in which he plays a tongue in cheek tribute to female stars from yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Finally, National Youth Dance Company presents MADHEAD (17 Jul), a new commission which sees Guest Artistic Director Botis Seva and a Company of 38 young dancers in a unique evening fusing contemporary dance, physical theatre and hip-hop.
