The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, has announced a new season of shows.

Highlights include Art, starring Nigel Havers, Denis Lawson and Stephen Tompkinson, Jersey Boys, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, with Ria Jones.

Classic dramas Love From A Stranger, by Agatha Christie, and Terrance Rattigan's The Winslow Boy are revived, and Cinderella gets the Matthew Bourne touch.

The Marlowe have teamed up with Selladoor Productions (Avenue Q, The Crucible) to present a new production of the American classic, Of Mice And Men, the landmark play by Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck.

Created to mark the 30th anniversary of the end of the miners' strike, Coal is a dance theatre show from award-winning choreographer Gary Clarke. It is performed by a company of professional dancers and women from the local community, accompanied by a live brass band.

Families are catered for with The Jungle Book (from the team behind Michael Morpurgo's Running Wild), David Walliams' Awful Auntie, Shrek The Musical, and Peppa Pig's Adventure.

The Philharmonia, The Marlowe's resident orchestra, present a series of concerts featuring world-class conductors and musicians, including Carl Davies (Love Stories From The Silver Screen).

Music one-night performances include The Real Thing, Heatwave and Odyssey, Lulu, John Mayall, and The Magic of Motown. Comedians include Simon Amstell, Milton Jones, Joel Dommett, and David Baddiel.

Tickets for some shows are already on sale; the rest go on sale to the public on Monday 4 September. Call the Box Office on 01227 787787, or go to marlowetheatre.com. There will be audio-described, captioned and British Sign Language-interpreted performances for many of these shows; for full details go to marlowetheatre.com.
