La Linea - The London Latin Music Festival celebrates the contribution of rising stars and global superstars from the world of Latin music to the wider musical landscape while celebrating London's status as one of the world's great Latin cities.

Following sell out performances at Kings Place, Southbank Centre and Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014, La Linea 2017 embraces the theatrical in its presentation of Violetta's Last Tango a captivating fusion of musical theatre, specially arranged tangos, popular opera, and contemporary dance in London's oldest and most beautiful venue - Wiltons Music Hall. Starring operatic soprano Ann Liebeck, champion tango dancers (LUKAS 2014/2015 ) David and Kim Benitez, Mina and Giraldo and Dante and Miriam. Virtuoso Cuban jazz violinist Omar Puente leads a star tango star band in this enchanting tale.

Enter the world of tango diva Violetta, an ageing singer who lives out her dreams in the Milongas of Buenos Aires. Although she is sick, she still comes to entertain clients with her Tango songs. One night, sitting alone in the bar after an encounter in the street, she is overwhelmed by vivid memories of her youth and of her great long-lost love and sings of the sacrifices she made. Alfredo, her lover, appears in her dreams as her past comes back to haunt her through the music she loves. They dance a heartfelt final tango before she returns to the reality of her life in the Milonga.

Liebeck's performance is moving and singing subline. The music, arranged by internationally recognised tango composers Julian Rowlands (Olivier award-nominated for Midnight Tango) and Nicolas 'Colacho' Brizuela (Latin Grammy Award winner ) ranges from Bizet and Verdi to Puccini, is utterly sensational.
