As part of its Father's Day celebrations, The Epstein Theatre is preparing to present The Tommy Cooper Show.
On Saturday, June 20, the iconic Hanover Street venue will welcome a stellar cast including West End Blood Brothers star Daniel Taylor, who will take to the stage to showcase a witty portrayal of the comedy legend.
Ideal for dads, granddads and families alike, the show promises to combine Tommy Cooper's life story together with his most memorable comical gags.
General Manager of The Epstein Theatre Rebekah Pichilingi said: "We're extremely excited to present The Tommy Cooper Show, as the production received high acclaimed during its Edinburgh debut last year. It's an honour to have such distinguished actors perform here at our venue, and we are certain that the show will take the Liverpool crowd by storm.
"With Father's Day fast approaching, The Tommy Cooper Show offers a brilliant opportunity for families to get together to treat the special men in their lives, spend some quality time and most of all share a right good laugh."
In addition to The Tommy Cooper Show, The Epstein Theatre is set to present a range of 'dad friendly' productions throughout the year including a live memoir with the world-renowned pioneering scientist and public thinker, Richard Dawkins, as well as an intimate evening with one of the nation's greatest comedy actors, Only Fools and Horses star John Challis.
On June 26, The Epstein Theatre will host Bunty the Bouncer, a ten character, one woman comedy show first performed 20 years previously in the former Neptune Theatre. In July, World Stars of Magic lands in the venue for two nights only to showcase the world's greatest magicians, followed in September by Bob Latchford, former Everton and England legend. Bob will host an intimate evening in which he will discuss his upcoming autobiography, A Different Road, and answer questions from the audience.
Rebekah added: "Year on year we continue to devise a varied performance catalogue to offer something for everyone of all ages. From comedy shows, to Burlesque evenings and pantomimes - we like to go above and beyond when it comes to showcasing such a diverse assortment of quality entertainment."
