This Spring, The Berry Theatre is celebrating the joy of storytelling in The Storytelling Festival between the 10th - 22nd April, marking the first year of the Write Now development programme.
Creative writing workshops for all ages will run throughout the fortnight, covering topics such as adapting for stage, video games and songwriting, with MA students from Winchester University reciting their work on the opening night.
From the 10th - 20th April, The Berry Theatre's associate writer Matt Beames brings Ellie's Extraordinary Adventure to ten libraries across Eastleigh and Southampton, with puppetry, song and plenty of stories to delight families.
Launching across libraries is the new Story Shuffle app, developed by Tec Hub associate TinRaven, digitising the story of Sir Bevis of Hampton as written by hundreds of local primary school children.
Lyngo Theatre present There and Back Again - An Odyssey on 13th April, starring CBeebies' Patrick Lynch in an adaptation of the tale that started them all, while Wes Anderson's quirky Fantastic Mr Fox returns to the big screen on 15th April following a festival special edition of Saturday Storytime.
Finally, rounding off the festival on 21st and 22nd April, The Berry Youth Theatre cause a splash with their version of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid.
