This October The Berry Theatre presents three family-friendly theatre shows, suitable for the whole family and a new -for-2017 Netley Literary Festival. Welcoming the country's best makers of family theatre, the venue has plenty to do for young people and their grownups this autumn half-term.

Performing at the venue for the first time, Little Angel Theatre presents Me... on Saturday 21st October. Based on the book by Emma Dodd, the production - which follows a baby penguin finding its feet - is the perfect introduction to theatre for the very young.

On Thursday 26th October audience favourites Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company returns to the venue with their latest kooky adaptation, The Enormous Turnip. Made for young people aged 3-10 and their families, this re-potted version of the beloved children's story is bursting with unswerving energy, live music and eccentric puppetry.

Tall Stories presents The Snow Dragon on Saturday 28th October. Suitable for all aged 3+, this wintry tale follows Billy and his special song-filled New Year's Day adventure, made by the company that produced The Gruffalo. Brilliant theatre for those with and without children, Tall Stories' enchanting tale is great fun for all.

Alongside the venue's packed programme of family theatre, The Berry Theatre welcomes ex-MP Michael Portillo on Saturday 28th October for an evening of riveting conversation just in time for his anticipated book launch. Michael will chat with his audience and take part in a Q&A, followed by a book signing. Tickets are £17.50 / £15 concessions.

For literature fans The Berry Theatre presents the first annual Netley Literary Festival, designed to engage the local community and commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen, 16th to 22nd October. Offering an insightful week of diverse talks from 11 different speakers, plus guided walks and more, this is the perfect autumn event for those interested in the suburb's Gothic heritage.

The Berry Theatre offers a special family offer of four tickets for £24 or five for £28. General admission is £8 / £6 for children. To book visit: www.theberrytheatre.co.uk / 023 8065 2333.
