Tessa Peake-Jones, Paul Kemp and Emily Burnett will appear in the world premiere of Tabitha Mortiboy's Beacons at Park Theatre (PARK90), running from 22 March - 16 April. Directed by Philip Wilson, this magical new play tells of love, loss and midnight ice cream sundaes under the starlit skies of the South Downs. Beacons is presented by Attic Theatre Company. Press Night is Thursday 24 March, 7pm.
Tessa Peake-Jones (Julie) is best known for her role as Raquel in the award-winning BBC series Only Fools and Horses and can currently be seen in ITV's Grantchester. Tessa's theatre credits include Home and Brimstone and Treacle (Arcola Theatre), The Five Wives of Maurice Pinder (National Theatre), as well as The Park, Hamlet and The Comedy of Errors (RSC).
Emily Burnett (Skye) was recently seen in First Love is the Revolution (Soho Theatre). Her television credits include Sweet Sixteen (BBC Wales) and The Sparticle Mystery (CBBC).
Writer Tabitha Mortiboy recently graduated from Bristol University and spent a year as a writer on attachment at the Bristol Old Vic. Her first full length play, Billy Through the Window, was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015. Beacons, developed with Attic Theatre Company, is her first commission and her first London production. Director Philip Wilson's recent theatre credits include his own adaptation of Philip Pullman's Grimm Tales (Oxo Tower Bargehouse and Shoreditch Town Hall), The Three Lions (St James Theatre/Edinburgh/UK Tour) and How Many Miles to Babylon? (Lyric Belfast). Philip was previously the Artistic Director of Salisbury Playhouse and acted as Performance Consultant for the film Shakespeare in Love. Designer Tom Rogers's recent work includes set and costume design for Beyond the Fence (Arts Theatre, West End), Grey Gardens and The Chimes (Southwark Playhouse), The Choir (Glasgow Citizens) and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole (Leicester Curve). He designed the costumes for Robbie Williams' Swings Both Ways world tour.Videos
