From Saturday 9 December - Saturday 6 January, The Albany Theatre will be transformed into Toad Hall to play host to Mike Kenny's adaptation of The Wind in the Willows.
This classic family tale has been adapted for the stage from the novel by Kenneth Grahame by Olivier award-winning playwright, Mike Kenny and boasts a cast of local professional talent alongside teams of local community artists to bring the adventures of these celebrated riverbank friends and foes to life - including Dean Leon Finlan as the irrepressible Toad.
The show has been produced, cast and created by the team behind Coventry's newest old theatre - an Art Deco gem in the heart of the community.
"It's really great to be involved in The Albany's first home-produced show - they've pulled together such a fantastic team of local talent, you just know it's the makings of something wonderful. And playing the swaggering, bumptious Toad is an absolute blast!" says Dean.
The cast also includes teams of local children from schools, groups and clubs who auditioned back in the summer. They will be working alongside the professional actors in the cast and playing the woodland creatures, including the ethereal field mouse choir and dastardly stoats and weasels!
The production runs from Saturday 9 December to Saturday 6 January at various times including special school performances. There will be a Relaxed Access matinee performance on Monday 11 December and BSL signed performances on Thursday 28 December.
Adult ticket prices start from £14 with concessions, groups and family discounts available. Tickets can be booked online at www.albanytheatre.co.uk or by telephone on 02476 998 964.
