THE SEVEN LESSONS OF George Howard by Chris Johnston plays Pleasance Theatre, Islington N7 9EF from 30 November - 4 December 2011.
George is a retired, once-famous theatre director. Agnieska is his new pupil. Agnieska has never acted before. However, she has brought him a play set at the time of the French Revolution. Agnieska's motives are not immediately apparent.
Chris Johnston's new play is a tale of mystery, sex and entanglement which deals with the perennial, hard-to-answer question; ‘Why do we make theatre?'.As the two characters begin work on the play, and George himself turns actor, fundamental questions emerge about ethics in the rehearsal room and how plays can serve both as concealments and disclosures of truth. The play stars Billie Vee and Edmund Dehn and is directed by Chris Johnston and Elisa Gallo Rosso.About the PlaywrightPLEASANCE THEATRE, ISLINGTON, North Road, London N7 9EF
