Are there people who know everything? The man who knows it all seems to think so, but behind every answer lies a new question...
The Unicorn Theatre continues its own brand of artful and subversive theatre with the UK premiere of The Man Who Knows It All by leading Dutch theatre-makers Theater Artemis and Maas Theatre (Wanted: Rabbit, 2014). A wonderfully surreal, wickedly intelligent and original tribute to not knowing much about anything.
Two performers and a musician go on a quest in search of everything it is possible to know. Along the way it becomes evident that the questions and answers just keep coming, especially when the audience gets involved. Knowing everything is more difficult than we imagine.
The Man Who Knows It All is a rare opportunity to catch one of Europes's most interesting theatre companies. Conceived and directed by Jetse Batelaan and performed by well-known Dutch actor, René van 't Hof and Tjebbe Roelofs, whose impeccable comic timing underlies their apparent arrogance and total incompetence, as they fail spectacularly again and again in front of a mercilessly curious audience. They are accompanied by musician Keimpe De Jong.
Audience members will have the chance to submit their questions for the man who knows it all beforehand and this will become part of the show.
This multi award-winning show with music and something resembling dance, is aimed at ages 4 to 10 years, but its existential reach is boundless and will leave adults and children howling with laughter.
Founded in 1990 Artemis is one of the Netherlands' leading theatre companies for young people and, like the Unicorn, they produce work that is bold, original and compelling and is made with artists traditionally recognised for creating cutting edge theatre.
