Cardiff's New Theatre has a number of upcoming shows including THE HARDER THEY COME, DAD'S ARMY MARCHES ON, and MORECAMBE.
THE HARDER THEY COME will run from July 6 through July 10. Following sell-out successes in the West End, Toronto and Miami, and based on the iconic seventies film that launched Jimmy Cliff onto the world stage, this exhilarating production tells the story of a country boy who makes for the bright lights of Kingston, Jamaica with high hopes of becoming a reggae star.
When the harsh reality of the music scene drives him into a fast and furious life as an outlaw, he would rather die than give up his dream.
All the songs that made the movie so unforgettable are here - "You Can Get It If You Really Want," "Many Rivers to Cross," "Higher and Higher," "Rivers of Babylon and The Harder They Come" - all performed live by the hottest reggae band this side of the Atlantic.
DAD'S ARMY MARCHES ON will run from July 13 through July 17. The boys are back in town. To celebrate 70 years of the Home Guard, Dad's Army is returning to the stage with a brand new adaptation of the classic sitcom. The same team who cleverly breathed life into the Lost Episodes are dusting down their uniforms and polishing their medals to bring these much-loved characters back to the New Theatre. A fabulous comic cast is headed by Leslie Grantham, putting his best foot forward as Pte. Walker.
