Belt Up Theatre's runaway success returns to London for a limited three week run at The Goldsmith as part of Southwark Playhouse's "Out and About" initiative from 25th January to 11th February 2012.

THE BOY JAMES allows its visitors the password to a strictly secret world; a safe haven where they can while away their time and get in touch with their inner child. Let your adult sensibilities go, join in the games and forget the cruel world on the other side of the window. But as the tick tock of the clock goes on, you too will have to face the inevitable voyage.

After a run at Southwark Playhouse in January 2011, THE BOY JAMES is returning to Southwark for three weeks as part of Southwark Playhouse's "Out and About" initiative. The show will make a new home above The Goldsmith, a bar and restaurant originally built as part of the London Fire Brigade Station. The company will be transforming the space into a fully formed immersive environment.

Jethro Compton will continue his role of The Boy and will be joined by Belt Up regular Serena Manteghi as The Girl (Lorca is Dead, Quasimodo, Antigone, Atrium, The Tartuffe), and Dominic J Allen as James (Macbeth, The Tartuffe, The Trial, Lorca is Dead, Quasimodo).

From critically acclaimed and sell-out runs in London and Edinburgh comes a dark, beautiful tale of one boy's awakening to the harsh realities of adulthood. Play with him, and take his hand as you lead him back to Neverland. A truly intimate experience from Belt Up Theatre, who have been hailed as a company "changing the future of British theatre" (The Observer) and as "Fringe Royalty" (Time Out).

Belt Up Theatre was founded by Dominic J Allen, Jethro Compton, James Wilkes and Alexander Wright. The company debuted in 2008, before winning the Edinburgh International Festival Award for its project The Red Room that year. The company is based in York where it has been resident company at York Theatre Royal since the end of 2009. Belt Up is committed to producing fearless, adventurous and playful work that places its audience at the centre of the production.

Jethro Compton Ltd was established in 2010 with the aim of producing innovative and exciting work on all scales. Previous work has included Belt Up Theatre's Macbeth (House of Detention, Clerkenwell) and the Belt Up Edinburgh Season 2011 which included TWENTY MINUTES TO NINE, OUTLAND, THE BOY JAMES, and THE PENTHOUSE: an evening with Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.
