STEPHANIE O'BRIEN - A singer-songwriter described as "Beautifully feminine and utterly captivating" [HOXTON AMP], Stephanie O'Brien's music shares something heart-achingly real and raw. Performing tracks from her debut EP 'Leave Your Heart at the Door', with an intensity and intimacy, her solo live performance, songs and vocals elicits a sensation that is nothing short of compelling.
Encapsulating a very personal journey and transformation (O'Brien left acclaimed harmony group The Puppini Sisters to pursue a career as a solo artist), she performs her one-woman live show.
As guitarist and violinist, this multi instrumentalists' delivery is beautifully minimal at times, then augmented through the addition of a loop station, filling the room with a powerfully uplifting sound and harmony. Her sound - alternative pop, with folk and jazz sensibilities, possesses classic undertones evocative of early influences from Sarah Vaughan to Jeff Buckley. Her music, a testament to her new direction, gives us a glimpse of what's to come and shows a new kind of artist emerging. Not to be missed.
