Stagecoach Theatre Arts will perform CATS, by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd at The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on 24th March 2013. This production will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Stagecoach Theatre Arts and will include 3000 young Stagecoach performers aged 7-18 years from across the country and feature a virtual choir showcasing talent from 10 countries around the word.
Based on T.S Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats with award-winning music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, CATS was originally directed by Trevor Nunn and broke records for the longest running musical on both the West End and Broadway.
It continues to live up to its motto of 'Now and Forever' with productions in over 20 countries and 250 cities, including such diverse destinations as Buenos Aires, Seoul, Helsinki and Singapore.
Veronica Bennetts, Director of Education for Stagecoach, said "T. S. Eliot's poetry, combined with the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber has provided us with inspirational material. With the dedicated work of teachers and principals in Stagecoach, together with students who are in their element with singing, dancing and acting, we are hoping to create something to remember for ever."
