BITE-SIZE LUNCHTIME FOURPLAY will run Monday 31 March - Friday 4 April at 1pm. Tickets are £8/£10 on the door. Grab a drink and a bite to eat, then come and enjoy a feast of 'laugh-out-loud funny' (Three Weeks) ten minute 'Bite-Size Plays' - four at a time. Come enjoy short, sweet and stimulating ten-minute plays (not sketches), that will leave you plenty to talk about!
KIT DOWNES and DORIAN FORD/JONNY PHILLIPS duo will appear on Wednesday 02 April at 8pm as part of the St. James PRSF/Jazz Services Award Key Composers series. Tickets are £12.50/£17.50. Long time collaborators Phillips and Ford's duo project appears regularly at the Vortex, the London Jazz Festival and the St. James. Playing original compositions and pieces by Debussy, Cuban folk songs, and contemporary South American composers, this melodic pairing are delighted to return to the St. James alongside Kit Downes.
MISS HOPE SPRINGS SWINGS WITH AMIGOS will appear Thursday 03 April at 8pm. Tickets are £20/£25. For one night only, West End cabaret sensation Miss Hope Springs, her musicians and guest artists, bring a banquet of her self-penned 'move you to tears, laugh out loud' songs with a side order of comedy and a sprinkling of Vegas stardust. Miss Hope Springs will appear with guest stars including David McAlmont, five star review songstress Xara and other very special surprise guests to be announced.
ALEXANDER STEWART will perform Friday 04 April at 8pm. Tickets are £18/ £20. Previewing new material from his second album to be released in May 2014, internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Alexander Stewart returns with his new quintet to St. James Studio for the last of three concerts as part of a winter/spring residency at the venue.
OPERA NAKED: THE CHAT SHOW will be presented Saturday 05 April at 8pm and Sunday 06 April at 3pm. Tickets are £18.50/£22.50. Host Tony LaScala interviews famous and infamous opera characters, with explosive consequences. The show promises sublime singing, spine-tingling stories and raucous fun. First on in this monthly series is Carmen - Bizet's wild temptress- in a revealing encounter with a former lover.
AS YOU LIKE IT (Lunchtime Theatre) will run Monday 07 - Friday 10 April at 1pm. Tickets are £8/£10 on the door. A man loves a woman, who loves a man (who is a woman), who loves a man, who flirts with a man (who is a woman). Confused? As You Like It include witty, playful and romantic adventure of mistaken identities, political rivalry and hidden passions unearthed in the Forest of Arden.
Ex-This Mortal Coil vocalist LOUISE RUTKOWSKI will present her first solo album, "Diary of a Lost Girl" with pianist, co-writer, and producer Irvin Duguid on Tuesday 08 April at 8pm. Tickets are £18.
Actress and painter KARA WILSON will recreate the Polish artist, Tamara de Lempicka, the glamorous and decadent Art Deco legend of 1930's Paris, on Wednesday 09 April at 8pm. Songs from the period combine with the action to create a magical occasion in this very special one woman show. Tickets are £20/£25.
THE FITZROVIA RADIO HOUR will run Thursday 10 - Friday 11 April at 8pm. Tickets are £20/£25. Performed with cut-glass theatricality blending homage and satire, Fitzrovia mixes the chauvinist attitudes of 1940s Britain with sharp contemporary humour to produce a heady comic cocktail.
Multi-award winning jazz singer and pianist Ian Shaw will sing Joni Mitchell on Saturday 12 April at 8pm. Shaw has been a life-long fan of the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Mitchell. This solo show celebrates the singer-songwriter's recent 70th birthday. Tickets are £20/£25.
CARNER & GREGOR: HIGHLIGHTS FROM ISLAND SONG will present brilliant new theatre songs from New York's most exciting songwriting duo on Sunday 13 April at 3pm and 7pm. West End stars sing the witty and moving songs hundreds of thousands of people have watched on YouTube! Tickets are £20/£25.
THE CARNER & GREGOR SONGBOOK, featuring Carner and Gregor's best loved songs sung by the hottest new talent in town, will hit the St. James Studio on Monday 14 April. Tickets are £18/£20.
A SPOONFUL OF SHERMAN will run Tuesday 15 - Monday 21 April. Evening shows start at 7.45pm and matinees begin at 3pm. Tickets are £18 - £25 and a family ticket is £60. The critically acclaimed cabaret returns to the St. James Studio after its sell out performances in January starring Greg Castioglioni (Titanic), Stuart Matthew Price (Parade), Charlotte Wakeman (Sound of Music), and Emma Williams (the original Truly Scrumptious is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). A Spoonful of Sherman celebrates 90 years of Sherman family music, including songs by Al Sherman, their father, and featuring Robert J Sherman, Robert's son, also a songwriter.
Following a sell-out show in February, Lenny Beige pays homage to British entertainer (and Beige's honorary father figure) Anthony Newley. He tells the story of this great all-rounder whilst also recounting his own rise to fame with the Malcom Edmonstone Quartet on Thursday 24 April at 8pm. Tickets are £17.50/£20.
VIN'S NIGHT IN will return on Friday 25 April at 8pm. Tickets are £7. Spring is springing, and to celebrate, Vin's Night In is springing back to St. James Studio for its first show there this year. Pop in and join Vin as he hosts another fabulous evening of singer-songwriters including Milly Upton and Xander Rawlins, plus a sprinkling of comedy, a drawing competition and prizes!
INCOGNITO ARTISTS will perform Saturday 26 April. Tickets are £30/£35. Stars - live from the West End, Broadway, from the Opera houses or touring productions around the globe, from TV and the movies, or fresh from the recording studio - fuse their talents to create an unforgettable, spectacular show.
THE POLITICAL PARTY will hit the St. James Studio on Wednesday 30 April at 8pm. Tickets are £12.50/£15. Matt Forde (as seen on Have I Got News For You, Russell Howard's Good News & This Week) hosts a comedy night combining topical stand-up and a big interview with a political heavyweight.
