Southwark Playhouse to Feature LaBute, Ravenhill, Kirkwood and Neilson in Terror Season

The Southwark Playhouse will feature four new short horror plays, mixed with "magic, cabaret and other oddities" to premiere during the Halloween season dubbed the theater's Terror Season. This year features plays by Neil LaBute, Mark Ravenhill, Lucy Kirkwood and Anthony Neilson.

The Terror Season's previous appearances have divided critics, had some audience members fleeing in fright, and won a nomination for the Peter Brook Empty Space Award. Attendance is strictly 18+.

LaBute will premiere SOME WHITE CHICK, directed by Jason Lawson. Ravenhill will perform in his play THE EXPERIMENT, directed by Anthony Banks. The other plays are Kirkwood's PSYCHOGEOGRAPHY, directed by Adam Meggido and Nielson's TWISTED, directed by Hannah Eidinow.

Neil LaBute is a Tony nominated writer and director, most recently represented in the West End by his play Fat Pig. Lucy Kirkwood's play Guns Or Butter featured in the 2007 Terror Season; Tinderbox premiered at the Bush Theatre. Anthony Neilson's recent London credits include God In Ruins (RSC at Soho) and The Wonderful World of Dissocia (Royal Court). Mark Ravenhill is an Evening Standard award-winning playwright and also performed in his play Product (Royal Court) and at Soho Theatre with Bette Bourne.
