Artistic Director Steve Marmion today announces 50 new shows in Soho Theatre's Spring 2012 Season; including an ambitious and exciting new writing project, UTOPIA, which will see six writers commissioned to create new play shorts. Plus an eclectic and exciting programme spanning Theatre, Comedy and Cabaret; with three performance spaces, presenting at least four different shows a night and its own late night bar, Soho Theatre is a vibrant hub in the centre of London's West End.

"I am delighted to be announcing Utopia, a brave new writing project offering utopian visions of the future from some remarkable and unexpected writers. We are also bringing back one of our most successful shows of last year, A Walk on Part continuing our creative partnership with Live Theatre who we will work with on Utopia. I'm also very excited to bring Headlong, HighTide and Nuffield to Soho Theatre with Ella Hickson's new play Boys. And it's thrilling to continue supporting new work from emerging artists and companies Upstairs and to present an incredible comedy and cabaret line-up Downstairs. It's another non-stop season loaded with the best in new writing, comedy and cabaret," says Steve Marmion, Artistic Director.

Soho Theatre has also appointed two new Artistic Associates, Dan Herd and Joe Murphy, who will work with Soho Theatre over the next twelve months on the Soho Upstairs program and projects within The Writers' Centre.

Soho Theatre collaborates with Live Theatre to commission UTOPIA: an evening of short new plays, showing visions of the future, directed by Artistic Directors Steve Marmion and Max Roberts, opening at Live Theatre on Thursday 31 May and at Soho Theatre on Thursday 21 Jun. Next this season will be the critically acclaimed sell-out success, A WALK ON PART, based on the political diaries of former MP Chris Mullin, returns to Soho Theatre moving into the Main House from Wednesday 21 March. Headlong brings Ella Hickson's BOYS to Soho Theatre for its London debut following its premiere at HighTide Festival and Nuffield Theatre opening for previews from Wednesday 30 May. Also, SWAMP JUICE, the sell-out phenomenon from the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe makes its London debut opening for previews on Tuesday 17 April.

Continuing its reputation as the hotspot for emerging artists Soho Upstairs brings with new plays from THIRD ANGEL, KALI THEATRE, DEAFINITELY THEATRE, CARTOON DE SALVO, THE WRONG CROWD, DIRTY STOP-OUT and MENAGERIE THEATRE.

Soho Theatre presents the very best of comedy and cabaret including Adam Riches, Ursula Martinez, Tindersticks, Late Night Gimp Fight, Greg Proops, Lord Buckley, Imran Yusuf and Nick Helm.
