The inaugural Young Arts Showcase will be taking place at the Swindon Arts Centre for a special one night only performance on Friday the 20th of November. After a series of applications from across the town, the final line up has been announced.
The evening of performances will include the BSL signing choir from Red Oaks Primary School, St Joseph's Catholic School Musical Theatre group, The Commonweal School's Youth Poetry Slam, Judith Hockaday School of Dance and Drama, Tanwood School of Performing Arts, a Guitar Duo from Milly Philpin as well as young musician Emily-Jane Sheppard and films from Create Studios.
With funding from Friends of the Swindon Arts Centre, young artists from Sixth Sense Theatre have organised the event to bring young people together on the Arts Centre stage. The two hour showcase includes contributions from young people with aged between 8-20 years old. There will also be an exhibition of paintings from young visual artists.
Tia Manning, Young Producer at Sixth Sense said, "We're excited to be announcing the line-up of the show. To be able to see all this local talent come together and entertain an audience will be something special."
Carli Green, Young Artist at Sixth Sense said, "Arts-wise, Swindon has some much going on, but it rarely gets a chance to come together like this and show the public what's going on. This is a great opportunity for audiences to see up close the raw talent Swindon has to offer."
The performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Wyvern Theatre Ticket Office or at www.swindontheatres.co.uk costing £5 each.
