WW1 comes to Brighton! Meet Harry Kay, the grandfather of the writer/performer. Find out what he did in the war, why he did it, what it meant to him and how it affected him. Find out why thousands of Englishmen fought in kilts in the war, and what this somewhat unusual battledress (to Englishmen anyway!) meant to them. With a little help from Shakespeare and Rupert Brooke the story is presented with humour and compassion.
The Kilted Tommy is appearing at The Old Courtroom, 118 Church Street, Brighton, BN1 1UD at 5pm tonight 14th May; 4pm on Sunday 17th May; 2pm on Friday 22nd May, and 2pm on Saturday 23rd May. Tickets £8 & £6 from www.brightonfringe.org/box-office or www.oldcourtroomproductions.com/boxoffice.php?pid=85.
