Shoreditch Town Hall welcomes a new season of much-loved Tea Dances as they return for 2017, with the aptly named and hugely popular Mr. Wonderful who will lead these monthly afternoons of dancing and entertainment this Spring. Participants can also enjoy a complimentary cup of tea and slice of cake as they dance the afternoon away in our grand Victorian Assembly Hall.
Part of Shoreditch Town Hall's Community Engagement Programme, the Tea Dances engage with older people from Hackney and the wider area, with a friendly 'open to all' atmosphere where everyone is welcome: young and old, new and seasoned dancers and group parties.
First time attendees, or anyone looking to practise their dance skills, are invited to join us for a Beginners' Dance Class from 12pm-1pm, where Raymond Root will bring you up to speed in time for the Dance.
The beautiful Italian marble panelled walls, grand Matcham-style balcony and fully sprung maple floor of one of East London's grandest venues provides the perfect setting for an afternoon of traditional song and dance. Improvements to the building over the last year now make Shoreditch Town Hall fully accessible, with a new internal passenger lift providing step-free access to the Assembly Hall.
Tickets can be reserved online at www.shoreditchtownhall.com or by calling 020 7739 6176, with payment taken on the day.
