Get It While It's Hot is Sherman theatre's brand new platform for emerging theatre companies in South Wales. For the very first Get it While It's Hot, Sherman Theatre is proud to present Cardiff-based Clock Tower Theatre Company with Shed Man by Kevin Jones.

Sherman Theatre's Artistic Director Rachel O'Riordan has said "At Sherman Theatre we are delighted to continue our commitment to exciting opportunities for our Welsh artists. Get It While It's Hot is our brand new idea. We pick a local company, who need the chance to share their work with a larger audience, and we support them to put their show on in our studio - it's a risk, it's fun, it's raw. The audience gets to see the newest theatre makers in Cardiff, in a relaxed and fun way with a drink and a pie into the bargain!"

Shed Man is a timely play that explores the serious subject of men's mental health. On a boiling bank holiday, Brian decides to build a shed in his back garden. Unfortunately, his wife Emma, his boss Mr Tatum and his mother Pat, all have different plans for him. In this dark and surreal study of human resistance, nothing will stop Brian on his mission, even if his life falls apart.

'We are thrilled to be presenting this timely play which looks inside the mind of a man whose identity is being hijacked by external factors. We hope that the light tone of this down-to-earth play will examine the components of being a traditional man in a very accessible way.' - Louise Swindell, Producer at Clock Tower Theatre

Clock Tower Theatre Company, which specialises in new writing, was recently praised for its clever use of location for A Recipe for Sloe Gin which was played against a stunning view of Cardiff Bay. This time, the action takes place around a life size shed being constructed by the protagonist.
