Sheffield Theatres announces today the four young local boys cast as Nathan in the Company's world première production of Simon Beaufoy's The Full Monty, which opens at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield from Saturday 2 - Saturday 23 February 2013.
Travis Caddy (age 13), Jack Hollington (age 11), Jay Olpin (age 13) and Ewan Revill (age 10) were selected to play the role from open auditions held by Sheffield Theatres in October. They will share the role on stage in Sheffield and the eleven tour venues across the UK, alongside their co-stars Sidney Cole (Absolutely Fabulous), Kenny Doughty (Stella), Craig Gazey (Coronation Street), Roger Morlidge (The English Patient), Keiran O'Brien (Nine Songs) and Simon Rouse (The Bill).
This world première production has been adapted for the stage by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire), who wrote the screenplay for the Fox Searchlight Pictures Motion Picture. The production will feature songs from the film by Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones and will rediscover the magic of the story of six Sheffield steelworkers with nothing left to lose. Directed by Sheffield Theatres' Artistic Director Daniel Evans, who has been eager to bring the Sheffield based story back to the city since his appointment at the theatre, The Full Monty is set to be a highlight of the theatre calendar during 2013.
The production is presented by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers, the multi-award winning producers of Art, Brief Encounter, God of Carnage and Calendar Girls.
The Full Monty will take to the Lyceum stage from Saturday 2 February - Saturday 23 February 2013. Tickets are priced from £11.00 - £30.00 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 0114 249 6000 or by visiting sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
