Four exciting new shows have been added to Sheffield Theatres' autumn/winter season. Currently on sale to Centre Stage Members, the shows will go on sale to the general public on Saturday 16 May at 10.00am.
Award-winning theatre company, Slung Low, bring two innovative children's shows to the Theatres this Christmas. 59 Minutes To Save Christmas is a fun-packed journey around the Crucible, from Friday 4 - Thursday 24 December. When Christmas trees start behaving strangely and there are rumours of grumpy fairies and elves throwing baubles at shoppers, it's clear that someone is out to spoil the fun. The clock is ticking....and only the audience can save Christmas! This interactive headphone adventure around the theatre is perfect for all intrepid explorers aged 6 years +.
Slung Low and Dep Arts then present Emergency Story Penguin, an interactive show for young children and their families in the Studio Theatre from Saturday 12 December - Saturday 2 January. Incorporating puppetry, video and music, this thrilling adventure follows secret organisation, The Emergency Story Unit, who deploy at a moment's notice to wherever in the world there's a story emergency! Audiences are invited to join them in their submarine powered by song, on a quest to rescue a stranded penguin - but they'll have to be brave.
In the Lyceum Theatre, Strictly Come Dancing stars Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone will dance The Last Tango from Monday 28 September - Saturday 3 October. After twenty years of dancing together, the World Argentine Tango Champions will say farewell to theatre in their most intimate, passionate and explosive performance yet.
Finally, Daniel Sloss - Dark, the smash-hit new show from Scotland's internationally acclaimed and award-winning comedy half-man-half-Xbox comes to the Studio Theatre on Wednesday 14 October as part of the Last Laugh Comedy Festival.
