Following the announcement that Sell a Door Theatre Company's well established London home, The Greenwich Playhouse, is to shut its doors in April they were left without a venue for their up coming production of The History Boys.
The company just managed to successfully re-house the production and will be back in the London borough of Greenwich at the Greenwich Theatre for a limited 1 week run.
Artistic Director and Producer David Hutchinson said, "We were thrilled when we were granted the rights to produce this show and we are thrilled that we are able to present the show in Greenwich, albeit at a different theatre than we originally intended. We have a great relationship with the Greenwich Theatre, so we are excited to be returning."
Sell a Door Theatre Company's staging of The History Boys will be the first professional London outing since The National Theatre's production and tells the story of an unruly bunch of teenagers whose lives are focused just as much on sex and sport as they are on historical fact and poetry. With the help of their maverick English teacher and a fresh faced supply teacher they awkwardly try to navigate the anarchy of adolescence whilst pursuing their desired place at Oxford or Cambridge University.
