The Royal Albert Hall was built to fulfil the vision of Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's consort) of a 'Central Hall' that would be used to promote understanding and appreciation of the Arts and Sciences and would stand at the heart of the South Kensington estate, surrounded by museums and places of learning.

A truly unique evening of rock 'n' roll with music legends Rick Wakeman, Jon Lord, Joe Bonamassa, Newton Faulkner and members of Deep Purple joining together to raise money for the Sunflower Jam charity.

The world's greatest classical music festival returns to the Hall for its 117th year.

Highlights this year include the returns to the BBC Proms of Gustavo Dudamel with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, Brian's colossal ‘Gothic' Symphony, a free Horrible Histories Prom for all the family, two Human Planet Proms with music by Nitin Sawhney and an intimate recital of solo violin works by JS Bach performed by Nigel Kennedy, as well as the annual festivities of the Last Night of the Proms and Proms in the Park.
