Rose Theatre Donates 4 Tonnes Of Soil From As You Like It To a School

The Rose Theatre will donate over 4 tonnes of quality soil to Robin Hood Primary School, taken from its current set, As You Like It, which plays until Saturday 26 March.

"Designed by Jonathan Fensom, the As You Like It set is incredibly beautiful and earthy. We have used over six cubic metres of soil in our unique space and we're delighted to be able to donate it to Robin Hood Primary School. We're sure they'll enjoy it!" Stephen Unwin, Artistic Director, Rose Theatre.

The soil will be used to create a number of allotments at the school as a part of the Aim High Allotment scheme. Phil Wood, Site Manager at Robin Hood Primary School said:
"The school is very excited to receive the huge amount of soil from the Rose's latest set. The pupils will use it to grow vegetables in their new allotments, and as a part of the National Curriculum work they are studying. It's fantastic that the soil will be going to good use in the local community."

Head Teacher Jeff Lloyd added "Kingston schools have always enjoyed close links with the Rose Theatre and we are delighted to receive this generous donation of soil for our new allotments."

Directed by Stephen Unwin, the cast includes Georgina Rich, Paul Shelley, David Sturzaker and Michael Feast.
