Rogue Writers: Finding Everywoman is celebration and discussion of the female voice in new writing.
The capital's most exciting new writing night is back, and is hitting the west end! Following a sell-out show in May, four pieces of new writing are presented, telling stories from female voices that go beyone gendered theatre. We're celebrating the possibilities of new writing, with a relaxed atmosphere and some of the best emerging talent in London.
The evening's performance will be followed by a panel discussion and industry Q & A.

Rogue Writers was formed in 2009 as the new writing wing of theatrical collective Rogues' Gallery. Rogues' Gallery was established with the aim of nurturing and supporting emerging theatrical talent, and Rogue Writers was developed as a way of focusing on that element whilst running alongside our full-scale productions. Over the past 21 months, the offshoot has grown beyond all our expectations. We've produced 17 shows and staged over 350 pieces of new writing, with each monthly show based around a particular theme or inspiration. The quality and range of writing being produced has been incredibly exciting for all involved.
The format is simple - an inspiration is set and sent out to forums, facebook groups, drama schools, young writers' programmes and our own ever-expanding list of creative talent. Four pieces are selected by our artistic director, CameRon Harris, then assigned to directors and cast. After a (very!) short rehearsal period, these are presented to an audience as an hour-long show.
On October 3rd we're taking over London's Leicester Square Theatre's main house for a one-off event. Following a sell-out show in May, we're transferring a night that's dedicated to the female voice in new writing. Finding Everywoman will present four pieces of new writing with female-only characters, as seen at our V's Up To The Budget show. Rather than focusing on a specific feminist polemic, we're seeking out stories from female voices that go beyond gendered theatre. In an exceptionally exciting night for us, we're combining our usual format of four pieces of new writing with a panel discussion on the female voice, featuring professional industry figures. We'll be discussing the pieces on stage that evening alongside the wider issues that surround new writing and female authorship.
Having built up a solid network, Rogue Writers' is continuing to expand and now reaches well over 1000 people each month with inspirations, casting breakdowns and other creative opportunities.
