Rogue Writers are delighted to invite you to our next show, building on the previous sell-out successes of 2010 and 2011. One of the most exciting new writing nights in London, it is a chance to see new work performed and directed by some of London's finest up-and-coming talent.
V's Up To The Budget!
Focusing on women in new writing, our next show ‘V's Up To The Budget!' will be written, directed and performed by women. Exclusively this month we will also have an industry panel who will lead audience discussion in response to the pieces.
In light of the funding cuts, and the drastic affects by received by the arts, with our cheap admission price and no cost for involvement, we think Rogue Writers is an exciting and integral company for all up and coming creatives of our generation.
Our monthly Rogue Writers' events stage four pieces of new work, each with a maximum length of 15 minutes. Prospective writers pitch their work and the best four are selected by a panel. We then supply directors and actors from a pool of creatives, making it one of the biggest and most inclusive new writing nights in town.
What's On Stage: "new writing performed and directed by some outstanding talent ... the pieces are varied and invariably exciting... it's just as much about the community of theatre as the night itself."
With a consistent and loyal following, Rogue Writers' has built up an impressive pedigree of talent, with writers and directors also working with Soho Theatre, Contact Theatre Manchester, The Factory, Tough Theatre, Stonecrabs Theatre in conjunction with the Albany Theatre, The c*ckTavern, Cheekish Productions and PapaTango Theatre.
Spoonfed "The quality of the acting, writing and directing is excellent and the original concept for the event means that each time will be entirely different. Rogue Writers is a genuinely entertaining night"
Following this show, V's Up To The Budget will be taking to the west end in October 2011! Leicester Square Theatre will play host to the second part of this exciting project, which will show case newly extended and further developed versions of the same new writing pieces.
