Following the massive success of his sold-out tour in 2005, Welsh menace Rob Brydon returns with his biggest tour to date. Rob has appeared at all the UK's major venues, covering 69 dates over four months. He will now be appearing at the prestigious Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London from 11th - 30th May before heading back on tour in the autumn for a strictly limited three week nationwide run.
Rob's pet topics are central to his one-man show. These include views close to his heart such as becoming a Dad at 42, the horrors of home-birthing, his obsession with owning new and unnecessary gadgets and his pondering on being Welsh and why Wales elicits such rabid, fun-poking by the rest of the country.
He returns to his love of improvisation with this tour, which means The Audience has no choice but to be involved. His relentless questioning of members of The Audience about their intimate relationships echoes the good old days of everyone's favourite award-winning TV host, Keith Barret. The chat is tempered by Rob's love of music, and his trusty guitar will see him grinnin' and pickin' his way through his personal favourites, the length and breadth of the country.
Rob says: "I am delighted to be back On The Road again and very much looking forward to staying in some of Britain's finest budget to mid-price hotels."
Rob first came to the public's attention in 2000 with two hit shows, BAFTA nominated ‘Marion and Geoff' and ‘Human Remains' - winning British Comedy Awards for both. Since then his credits have included ‘Directors Commentary', ‘Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive' and the extremely popular ‘Keith Barret Show'. More recently Rob has been seen as the much loved Uncle Bryn in the multi-award winning, hit show ‘Gavin and Stacey'.
The Tour is being presented by Phil Mcintyre Entertainment and commences on the 19th November 2009 in Tenby, Wales and has it's finale in a strictly limited run at the Apollo Theatre in London in May.
