The two very different worlds of West End and reality TV are set to join forces this spring to bring two nights of musical theatre-inspired entertainment to Manchester.

West End Story has already proved a hit in Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn and now it's moving up north for two nights at Manchester's very own Hope Mill Theatre, in Ancoats.

The production promises to bring the West End to Manchester, with musical numbers from everybody's favorite shows, including Miss Saigon, Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, Footloose and many more.

As well as a live orchestra this production also boasts a headline worthy line-up including TOWIE star, Ricky Rayment, who is making his musical theatre debut in the production, and X-Factor's Sean Smith, one half of the sibling pop duo 'Same Difference'.

Ahead of his musical theatre stage debut, Ricky said: "I've never performed any musical theatre before, although I'm actually a big fan. I've seen lots of West End shows over the years and I'm thrilled to be asked to be part of this production.

"Jonny [Clayton], the musical director has selected some great songs for me I can't wait to show everybody what I've been up to."

As well as reality stars Ricky and Sean, West End Story also features artists from all areas of the UK, including Kat Kleve, who has recently performed in London's West End with 'Once the musical', and Marcus Ayton who up until last year could be seen up and down the country in 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat'.

The production not only has a string of seasoned professionals, it will also showcase students from The Midlands Academy of Musical Theatre. The students will be make up the dynamic vocal ensemble, supporting the artists throughout the production.

Producer, Michael Jenkins said: "The mix of reality stars and seasoned West End performers makes this show something really special and unique. It's got something for everyone and believe it or not Ricky [Rayment] can sing, I've seen it for myself when we met last Christmas, when we worked together in panto in North Wales.

"As well as our superb line-up of leading performers and a dazzling orchestra, the vocal ensemble in this show are so important, they add so much to the overall sound with impressive their vocal harmonies."

He added: "I'm thrilled to have MAMT onboard, they have some of the finest musical theatre students in the area and if the rehearsals anything to go by I'm sure they are going to demonstrate their excellence."

This production runs from April 28 - 29 and tickets are available through the Hope Mill Theatres website, or by calling 0161 275 9141.
