Character comedian Maddy Anholt returns following five-star sell-outs at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Soho Theatre with Herselves; a brand spanking new and hilarious hour that delves into her surreal and sparkly world of character comedy.
Enchanting, ferocious, dark, and absurd characters appear on stage as Anholt's one-woman sketches interweave to create something quite special. We meet the star of TVs "On The Pole and On The Dole" and find out why cleaning ladies make the best radio hosts.
With characters all across the personality spectrum, the one thing that binds them all together is their total charm, as Anholt's entrancing charisma shines through in every vignette.
Maddy Anholt is a comedy actress and scriptwriter whose recent TV appearances include BBC3's Sunny D, and The Story of Miranda Hart for Channel 5 . She also recently recorded her own BBC Radio 4 pilot, No Smoke. She can regularly be seen as a panellist on Sam Delaney's News Thing and will be performing Herselves on the prestigious Cabaret stage at Latitude Festival this summer before heading up to Edinburgh.
Maddy trained at ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) and found her feet working as a character comedy actress on her first self-penned show at The Canal Cafe Theatre. In 2015 she took her first one-woman show, Diary of a Dating Addict, up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she received 5 star reviews and sold out her run before it transferred to the Soho Theatre in March 2016. Last summer she performed her highly acclaimed one-woman comedy, Rent Girl, co-written and directed by HarDeep Singh Kohli, at the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Fringe.
