Edward Hall's Propeller theatre company will bring their touring productions of Henry V and The Winter's Tale to Hampstead Theatre on London, for a three-week run this summer (3 – 21 July 2012, press day Friday 6 July).

This run follows Propeller's critically and publicly acclaimed debut at Hampstead Theatre in the summer of 2011, which saw their productions of Richard III and The Comedy of Errors play to 93% capacity.

The Hampstead run will be the climax of Propeller's national and international tour, in which Henry V and The Winter's Tale have visited 19 different venues in seven different countries, selling over fifty thousand tickets in total.

Propeller's new production of Henry V tells the tale of the greatest British warrior in English folklore. In a time when nationalism is at its most dangerous and exciting and increasing numbers of British servicemen and women are seeing active service, Propeller brings its own unique take on one of Shakespeare's most famous plays. Thrilling and deeply moving, Henry V marks the beginning of a journey that takes us from the corridors of Westminster to the fields of France in an evening of unforgettable power.

A tragic fairytale, The Winter's Tale tells the mysterious and extraordinary story of a man consumed by an inexplicable jealousy that destroys his family, his kingdom and himself. Wracked with guilt, Leontes sets off a chain reaction of events that leads to a miraculous climax and the chance of redemption. This is a re-visiting of Propeller's highly-acclaimed 2005 production.

Led by director Edward Hall, internationally acclaimed theatre company Propeller is renowned for combining a rigorous approach to the text with an exciting, physical aesthetic, engaging its audience's imagination and bringing fresh understanding to classic plays.

The Henry V cast includes Dugald Bruce-Lockhart in the title role of King Henry V, with Vince Leigh as Pistol and Tony Bell as Mistress Quickly. In The Winter's Tale, Robert Hands plays Leontes, Richard Dempsey plays Hermione, and Nicholas Asbury plays Polixines.

The production also sees six new actors join The Propeller Company, including Karl Davies (Coronation Street, Kingdom).

Both productions will be performed by all members of the company. For tickets or more information, visit www.hampsteadtheatre.com.
