The Brothers Lionheart: a UK Premiere adapted from the novel by Astrid Lindgren author of the Pippi Longstocking tales.

In a story of brotherly love written by Astrid Lindgren of Pippi Longstocking fame, Jonathan and Karl are led into the mythical land of Nangiyala, a world where everything is not what it seems.

Struggling against fire breathing dragons and the evil Tengla, the boys fight to maintain the freedom of their new home and protect their new friends. The dynamic duo, against all odds, surpasses obstacles till the bitter end- leaving the audience's heart beating until the final curtain falls.

This fantasy tale, reminiscent of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Narnia, remind audiences of all ages that love can triumph over evil.
The new adaptation, a UK premiere, produced by Pleasance Theatre and Lionheart Productions, promises to thrill a variety of age groups.

Director of Pleasance, Anthony Alderson said

"The Brothers Lionheart is one of the most famous children's stories in Europe, yet relatively unknown to a UK audience. We're very exciting to be hosting this UK premiere of a story that is sure to become as famous as Cinderella or Peter Pan."
Pete Gallagher and Richard Storry bring this classic tale from page to stage in a musical adaptation in the Pleasance main house.

"More ideas and originality than in most of today's West End shows (put together)" The Stage on previous Lionheart production of Overture.
