Skewbald Theatre create a magical winter adventure full of lively songs, magical puppets and plenty of audience interaction at Bloomsbury Studio this Christmas. Children aged 3-8 and their families are transported to the snow capped mountains of Switzerland and the Little Village of Dorta where the villagers bang their drums, blow their horns and ring the bells to keep the fearsome Mountain Dragon away.

A duo of multi-skilled performers transform from storytellers to village folk to puppeteers bringing to life the story of Mimi, a little girl called who discovers something extraordinary- a baby dragon sleeping in her woodshed! The little creature is lost and frightened but how did he get there and what happens when his mother comes looking for him? Mimi must be extremely brave if she is going to reach the Dragon's castle at the very top of the mountain and return the baby to its mother.

This year Skewbald Theatre are collaborating with the exciting writing duo Wigmore & Green to create original songs and a lively musical score inspired by Swiss folk music and traditions.

Skewbald Theatre have a proven track record of delighting family audiences at Christmas making an adventure through the playgrounds of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with their show Fairytales After Dark in 2014. The company have also recently worked with UCL Museums to bring their collections to life in an exciting storytelling project called Talking Objects.

Skewbald Director Hayley Byfield said of the show: "It's a great thrill to be creating the world premiere theatre production of this extraordinary book! Whether we are 3 or 103 the story weaves a fascinating tale of friendship and bravery. Come and join us as we travel through the mountains with Mimi and let's hope we get the baby dragon home safe and sound to its mother"
