The Jericho House presents KATRINA, a promenade production composed entirely of accounts provided by both survivors and those responsible for the failed relief effort following the hurricane which destroyed the City of New Orleans in August 2005.
KATRINA uses survivor testimonies and the rich musical tradition of New Orleans to tell the story of the immediate aftermath of the hurricane. Staged in a five-storey warehouse on London's south bank, Jericho House's new playtakes the audience on an odyssey through a drowned city, enveloped in the most immersive of visual and aural designs, in the company of individuals displaced and abandoned within their own city.
KATRINA opened 01 September and runs through 26 September 2009 with Press Night scheduled for Friday 04 September at 7 pm. Performances will run Tuesday - Sunday at 8 pm and Saturdays at 4 pm. Ticket prices are £17 full price, £14 for previews, 25s and unders, 60 and over and groups (subject to availability)
Performances take place at The Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, London, SE1 9PH. Tickets can be purchased by calling The Young Vic box office at 020 7922 2922 or online at http://www.youngvic.org/.
