Rose Theatre Productions presents Donkeys' Years by Michael Frayn between the 6 and 22 February 2014. This sparkling revival is directed by Lisa Spirling, making a return to the Rose following her acclaimed production of Michael Frayn's Here in 2012. There will be a talk with Michael Frayn and Lisa Spirling at 5.30pm in the auditorium on Thursday 13 February. Scroll down for some photos from the production!

The full cast of Donkeys' Years includes: Keith Barron as 'Birkett', Simon Coates as 'Tate', Jason Durr as 'Quine', James Dutton as 'Taylor', Jamie Glover as 'Headingley', John Hodgkinson as 'Sainsbury', Ian Hughes as 'Snell', Jemma Redgrave as 'Lady Driver' and Nicholas Rowe as 'Buckle'.

The perfect summer's day, and at one of the older universities solidly successful middle-aged men are getting into their dinner-jackets for a reunion dinner. No women, of course, because in the far-off days of their youth even the passing glimpse of a woman in college was an event to remember. But everyone's coming! Even Roddy Moore, their elusive hero. As the moon rises and the wine goes down, middle-aged men become young again, with only too predictable results. And, in the midst of the battlefield, hidden in Roddy Moore's old rooms waiting for a quiet word with her lost love, that very woman they all once glimpsed and never forgot...

Michael Frayn (Playwright) is a multi-award winning playwright and novelist, best known for plays including Noises Off, Democracy and Copenhagen. His critically successful novels include Towards The End Of The Morning, Headlong and Spies, which won the Whitbread Prize for Fiction.

Lisa Spirling (Director) most recently directed Fault Lines and I Know How I Feel About Eve at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs. Her other theatre directorial credits include Here (Rose Theatre Kingston), Idiots of Ants (Pleasance, Edinburgh), Hundreds & Thousands (Soho Theatre) and Boeing Boeing (Alley Theatre, Texas). Spirling is also co-founder of Buckle for Dust Theatre Company and is an affiliate artist at Theatre503.
