Angela Arden (AKA Dale Vicker) arrived in Manchester this week to meet her fans, see the sights and start spreading the word that Die, Mommie, Die! is coming and opens on August 24th for two nights only at Sachas Hotel Ballroom as part of Manchester Pride.
The UK Premiere Production proved to be such a huge hit that award-nominated Vertigo Theatre Productions quickly booked it to play again. Named as one of the top ten fringe events to see over Manchester Pride by Jackie Crozier the festival director Die, Mommie, Die by Tony-nominated legend Charles Busch is a play you don't want to miss.
It's circa 1960s. Angela Arden, a fallen pop diva is trapped in a hateful marriage to film producer Sol Sussman. Desperate to find happiness with her younger lover, an out-of-work TV actor named Tony Parker, Angela gruesomely murders her husband with the aid of a poisoned suppository. Angela's manipulative daughter, Edith, convinces her 'emotionally disturbed' brother, Lance, that together they must avenge their father's death... by killing their mother!
A brilliant campy melodrama that pays homage/parodies those wonderful (and slightly demented) 50's and 60's Melodrama's such as Dead Ringer, Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. A smash hit on stage in New York and now in the UK and turned into the Sundance Festival award winning movie, Die, Mommie, Die! is a show not to be missed.
Don't miss out on your chance to see the show that Canal Street.co.uk called ‘One of the best things I've ever seen in Taurus' and that What's on Stage said ‘Dale Vicker throws himself in to the role of Angela Arden'.
So book today to secure your place at the UK Premiere Production of Die, Mommie, Die!, starring the original UK cast and directed by Craig Hepworth. Manchester Pride and Die, Mommie, Die!.....a match made in heaven.
