The free theatre season in The Scoop is back as part of the London Bridge City Summer Festival - offering 40,000 free theatre tickets for great theatre within the heart of London, running now through 3rd September 2017.

Ancient Greece's greatest epic story The Odyssey comes to London this summer as a thrilling 3-part open-air theatre experience played out in The Scoop amphitheatre overlooking Tower Bridge - and it's completely free. BroadwayWorld has an exclusive first look at the cast below!

In the stunning amphitheatre on the banks of the River Thames, London's Free Open Air Theatre Season returns to its critically acclaimed classical roots for a 15th year, with a reimagining of one of the world's greatest adventure stories - The Odyssey.

A three-hour, three-part story led with monstrous creatures and battles on and off the high seas, each part will be a story within itself, and can be enjoyed individually. Alternatively audiences can experience the whole of Odysseus' journey acRoss One fantastical evening or over several visits. And there's no need to book - just turn up and take a seat! There's room for 1,000 people at every performance.

6pm- PART ONE: A GREAT BIG GREEK ADVENTURE

This first part will excite explorers of all ages as our hero Odysseus sets off from Troy, yearning to return home. Suitable for all the family, this engaging first play will be jam-packed full of adventure as our hero battles both gods and monsters.

7:30pm- PART TWO: THE POWER OF LOVE

Part two is a play for the romantic at heart, as Odysseus and his crew are confronted by tempting sirens and passionate goddesses. Odysseus struggles to stay faithful to his wife, Penelope, whilst she is besieged by suitors at home. Can their love survive with the two kept so far apart and for so long?

9:00pm- PART THREE: THE HOMECOMING

Odysseus must adapt to a changed world as he finally returns to face the perils of reclaiming his former kingdom and reuniting with his loved ones. This hauntingly beautiful final play is a celebration of home and family.

In the cast are: Toyin Ayedun-Alase, Lincoln James, P K Taylor, Lawrence Boothman, Rebecca Layoo, Molly Crookes, Alec Porter, Adrian Decosta, and Henry Wyrley-Birch.
