Yesterday, April 18, Belt Up Theatre's all male production of 'MacBeth' opened at The House of Detention in London with Dominic Allen in the title role.
This brand new production of Macbeth sees Shakespeare's bloody tragedy mounted by an all-male cast that breathe life into the Scottish King and the three weird sisters that guide him on his path to self destruction.
The action unfolds against the backdrop of The House of Detention, Clerkenwell- an underground building previously renowned for being a prison, a workhouse and a system of cells. Locked away from daylight within a reputedly haunted labyrinth, watch Macbeth as he struggles through delusions and paranoia in this relic of Victorian punishment, bricks built one upon the other with a single purpose, preventing the demons inside from being unleashed.Allow the strangers your hand and follow as they lead you far below the streets of London. There - begin your passage: a nightmarish journey in the mind of one of literature's greatest serial killers. For tickets and more information, visit http://www.beltuptheatre.com.
