With only one day to go until Panto Day 2013, Pantoland is putting the final touches in place to celebrate the magic of pantomime on Saturday 7th December.
Panto fans are invited to join the online panto celebrations on Saturday 7th December by following @Panto_Day and tweeting anything and everything panto related using the official hashtag #panto .
Panto passionistas are also encouraged to 'like' and contribute to Panto Day's Facebook page facebook.com/celebratepanto and upload videos with the theme of 'I love #panto because...' to YouTube , where they will be added to Panto Day's special profile playlist for all to enjoy.
'A Day in the Life of Pantoland' is back for its second year and sees a whole host of panto performers tweet their every move, from wake-up to walkdown. This year's official Panto Day tweeters include Alan Fletcher (@DoctorKK), Bonnie Langford (@bonnie_langford), Grant Stott (@GrantStott973), Kev Orkian (@TheKevOrkian) and Craig Glover (@craigglover).
But that's not all....Wednesday 7th December sees the launch of five new articles on the 'Panto Advice Page', where the best in the business share their pearls of panto wisdom. Bursting with useful information, tips and advice from panto designers, performers, choreographers and musical directors, the 'Panto Advice Page' is a must read for anyone interested in pantomime.
Over 200 theatres will be staging special Panto Day events and activities, with all 257 professional UK pantomimes listed on the brand new National Database of Pantomime Performance at http://www.pantoperformances.info/. The database has attracted a lot of interest over the last week and we're proud to say that, contrary to what you may have heard, the Dame is very much alive! Official Panto Season 2013 statistics from the National Database of Pantomime Performance can be found at celebratepanto.co.uk
And if that's not enough...on Saturday 2013, Panto Day is set to reveal a brand new 20 minute film all about pantomime titles in the twenty-first century. Be sure to visit https://www.youtube.com/celebratepanto to hear top pantomime practitioners Andrew Pollard and Susie McKenna speak about their productions of Puss in Boots at the Greenwich Theatre and Hackney Empire.
