They will present an industry-only workshop reading of the show at Southwark Playhouse on Friday 17 February.
Some Lovers is a Valentine to the New York we're always leaving behind -- a new musical from Tony and
Grammy Award winning writer Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), and Academy Award, Grammy Award winning pop legend Burt Bacharach.
Inspired by The Gift of the Magi, it's a contemporary parable about the gifts we give one another -- a love story,
set over 20 years. It has a cast of four who play two characters caught between present and past.
The show features an all-new score by Bacharach and Sater, brilliantly arranged by Jonathan Tunick.
It's Bacharach's first new score for the theatre since Promises Promises in 1968.
The workshop reading will be directed by Tim Sheader.
The producers said: "We are delighted to be workshopping Burt Bacharach's second original musical, which has never been seen or heard this side of the Atlantic. Burt fans heard a song from the show called "Hush" during his recent concert performances in the UK. We hope this will be the first steps to staging a full production."
Promises Promises will run at Southwark Playhouse from Friday 13 January to Saturday 18 February.
